The Houston mother has every reason to urge you to check for criminal background. Not too long ago, she hired a convicted killer to take care of her three children. The man came from a nanny agency the Fosters had used before. He was pleasant and polite and passed the interview with flying colors. The idea of a male nanny who can play soccer with their three boys appealed to the Fosters so much that they hired the man.
Fortunately for the Fosters, they decided to investigate their nanny’s information and check for criminal background. What they discovered was a terrible nightmare. The nanny they hired had given them a false name. Even worse, a quick check for criminal background revealed that 12 years ago in Switzerland, the man had been convicted for a murder in an armed robbery. He escaped from jail and would have been a constant fixture of the Foster household had they not run a background check on him.
